SAT 2nd F.M.
Review – “Was this our best pub gig ever ?? Probably !!!! What can you say about FM , this was rock and metal utopia, a classic journey through the rock and roll hall of fame. They did the lot, Kaiser Chiefs, Foo Fighters,Sabbath, AC/DC, Zep and no real cheese, Ok they did Whisky in the Jar, but hey!! FM put a great amount of effort into this gig , sometimes mid week gigs just don,t seem to have the same WOW /OOMPH
The atmosphere was great as was the music, a superb night. What is particularly pleasing is that FM don,t always take the easy option, i.e instead of sticking to Sweet Child Of Mine ,they did Welcome to The Jungle,so its nice to hear a year and on this performance many a year to come different GnR cover and one that takes a little more effort vocally.
How long have FM been around now ?? Many a year and on this performance many a year to come. Thanks lads you were awesome.”
SAT 9th WHOLE HOG
GIG PIT review – The Comrades welcomed The Whole Hog back with their eclectic mix of rock that although you’re familiar with, you don’t often hear played by local bands. The fact there were members of at least 5 local bands in to see The Hog gives an idea of how highly the band are respected among the local musicians. Kicking off with Fleetwood Mac’s Oh Well and running through classics by Family, Jethro Tull, Free, The Climax Blues Band as well as a couple of newer numbers by Joe Bonamassa & The Foo Fighters the bands gave a superb show that was well received by the punters. Rob on vocals & Sax is an excellent front man whose vocal talents and onstage athletics are a visual focus that other bands could learn from. Twin guitarists whose on stage empathy speaks of long experience of working together are underpinned by a solid rhythm section fronted by John on bass who bounces well off Rob on vocals in giving the appearance of a party on stage. Musicians having a good time whilst playing always carry the crowd with them – we look forward to seeing The Whole Hog later in the year.

GIG PIT REVIEW – “First time for me to catch the 7 Sins @ Murton’s Big Club i realy enjoyed the band a great selection of Rock covers from tom petty – free – kings of leon – Def Leppard – Bad Compony – kaizer chiefs – Simple minds. The standard of playing was excellent bill brown on Rythm and lead vocals has a great tone to his voice and is a great frontman who likes to get the audience involved with his jokes and banter. The other members play to a very high standard Lead guitar – Bass – and a cracking drummer that captures the feel and sound of the the drummers that had crafted the songs that they covered. All in all what a great night” – “Now if they are a new one for you too, make a point of getting to see them – you wont be disappointed. They didn’t need gimmicks as the quality of playing was excellent as was the sound quality. So a fantastic night with Rainbow, Free, Doobie Brothers “Long Train Running”, Martha & the Muffins “Echo Beach” to name just a few.The crowd really appreciated them and I think you would.”
